The Front Porch Players Musical Theater Summer Program is open to all interested students ages 11-18. During the two-week program, students will receive training in voice, dance, drama, and backstage skills, while working on a Broadway Musical Revue performance of scenes from classic and contemporary shows!
Each student will be cast as a soloist in two scenes, work on a solo song, and perform in the ensemble of additional scenes. We will tailor the song choices and roles to the students, and the students will help choose the theme, storyline, and songs featured in the final performance. Students are encouraged to explore all the aspects of putting on a show, so interested students will also get the opportunity to help direct or stage manage a scene.
With a maximum enrollment of 15 students, we ensure that each student receives personalized instruction. Over the course of the program we will develop a sense of community and create an environment in which students feel free to explore their talents and try new things as performers.
